Service Specific FAQs
Most ENT conditions are managed without surgery. We recommend a procedure only when conservative care has been adequately tried and anatomy requires correction — a severely deviated septum, a hole in the eardrum, or obstructive tonsils affecting sleep and growth.
Many — including tympanoplasty, septoplasty, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, and FESS — can be day-care procedures, allowing return home the same day or after one overnight observation.
FESS and septoplasty: return to office work in 7 to 10 days. Adult tonsillectomy: 10 to 14 days. Ear surgery: 1 to 2 weeks limited activity, water precautions for 4 to 6 weeks.
All surgeries carry some risk. ENT procedures in experienced hands have low but non-zero risks of bleeding, infection, and anaesthetic reaction. These are discussed fully at pre-operative counselling with written information provided.
Some medications — blood thinners, certain supplements, and diabetes drugs — need to be paused in advance. A full medicine review is part of pre-operative consultation; do not stop anything on your own.
